Timbeco manufactured and erected two 2-storey apartment buildings made of prefab timber elements in Norway. At the Timbeco factory, cladding and windows with sealing and finishing were installed on prefab timber frame elements.
An important aspect for the client was the sound- and fire-proofness of inserted ceilings. In order to increase sound-proofness, inserted ceiling elements were equipped with metal acoustic balks. Also, soundproofing strips were installed between prefab wall elements and inserted ceiling elements.
In order to increase fireproofness, inserted ceiling elements were equipped with a metal mesh which, in case of a fire, keeps the mineral wool around the wooden structure and prevents the wood from catching fire.
