Timbeco manufactured timber prefab wall elements for a 13-storey apartment building with a concrete structure in Norway. The use of timber prefab wall elements in buildings with a concrete structure speeds up the construction process and thus reduces the construction budget.
Timbeco also installed windows in the prefab wall elements. Since windows are installed in the prefab wall elements at the factory, it enables to make windows a lot air-tighter compared to the installation of windows on the site.
As a result of a pressure test conducted by the client, better air-tightness was established on Lervig Brygge B7 than required by the Norwegian passive house standard. The results of the pressure test indicate that the junctions of concrete and wooden structure used by Timbeco are very energy-efficient and that the use of prefab timber frame elements in buildings with a concrete structure increases the energy-efficiency of the building.
