Vaela modular kindergarten in Estonia
Modular construction is steadily making its way onto Estonian building sites, thanks to the growing readiness of both state and local governments and the increasing awareness of its benefits. By fostering cooperation between all stakeholders, we can create sustainable, future-focused construction solutions for projects such as schools, kindergartens, nursing homes, and even rental housing.
The Vaela Kindergarten project exemplifies this approach. Designed to accommodate ten groups, the first stage of construction will include six group rooms, a multi-purpose hall, a large kitchen serving the entire municipality’s kindergartens, support activity rooms, and outdoor spaces. One of the key advantages of the modular design is its flexibility: additional group rooms can be easily added in the future without major disruptions to daily operations.
The completion of the entire project is scheduled for September 2024, with a total construction cost of €6.9 million. The architectural design of the Vaela Kindergarten is led by Projekt O2 OÜ, while the landscape architectural design for the courtyard area is by Lars Laj Eesti OÜ. Energiapartner OÜ is responsible for the construction and energy efficiency of the solar park, ensuring that the project meets high sustainability standards.
